Regenerating aquatic resources in response to Sea and Island week activities in Vietnam and the world oceans in 2020 (19-11-2020)
The Fisheries Department of Ca Mau Province in coordination with the Buddhist Church of Vietnam, the People's Committee of Vien An commune organized the release of 2 million tiger shrimp, 70 thousand sea crabs and 27 thousands of fish breeds of many kinds in order to regenerate aquatic species and to propagate and protect aquatic resources on the morning of June 8, 2020.
Accordingly, the above number of fingerlings, crabs and shrimps are stocked at Cai Moi belonging to MPA subdivision of Ca Mau National Park. This is a well-adapted area for aquatic species to live and develop, the quality of fingerlings supplied from reputable enterprises.
This activity is an annual activity of the Agriculture and Rural Development sector to propagate people to raise more awareness in the exploitation of aquatic resources, to avoid the situation of eradicating fishing by explosion and electrical impulses and in order to step by step regenerate aquatic species in danger of being threatened and extinct. This is also an activity in response to Vietnam Sea and Islands Week (June 1 - 8) and World Oceans Day (June 8).
In the coming days, Sub-Department of Fisheries will continue to stock fish, sea crab and tiger shrimp seed to Thi Tuong, Song Doc estuary and Da Bac estuary. These are areas that fish can live and restore aquatic resources to gradually restore the sources of coastal fisheries to become more and more plentiful and diverse.
